The multi-million project with 9 class rooms was successfully delivered within just nine months of construction, overcoming complex challenges with precision and speed.
The works involved extensive demolition, site excavation, and the construction of major retaining walls to create a stable platform for the new facility within a space-restricted campus. Twenty-one prefabricated modules, along with five pop-up roofs and flatpacks, were manufactured offsite and transported to site. Using a 450-tonne mobile crane, the modules were lifted directly into the heart of the school from trucks onto footings, with installation completed in a carefully sequenced operation.
The project was delivered using Modern Methods of Construction and Designed using (DfMA). The Structural steel building frame was fabricated with the use of a Robotic Welding system delivering a safer more accurate outcome. Light gauge steel frames were produced using the digital files to allow the fabrication and cutting of the steel frame efficiently.
Finishing trades then seamlessly tied together the modular sections, completing cantilevered roofs, decks, and high-quality landscaping to integrate the new building with its surroundings. All components of the building were manufactured in a factory environment providing safety, quality and environmental benefits.
This project highlights the efficiency and sustainability of modern modular construction, providing state-of-the-art learning spaces in a fraction of the time of traditional builds. By combining meticulous planning with innovative offsite solutions, Prebuilt has once again demonstrated its capability to deliver complex, multi-level educational facilities on time and to the highest standards.
