Rob and Christiana Colquhoun established Prebuilt to deliver innovative design in the modular home manufacturers market, building on their collective backgrounds in development, construction and asset management – and their passion for intelligent architecture.

One of Prebuilt’s most iconic first designs was the Freedom House. This two-storey home folded like origami to fit neatly on one truck. Numerous iterations of this house were sold in remote locations all over Australia, from Tasmania to Far North Queensland.

Having developed efficient and sustainable construction techniques in the residential market, Prebuilt expanded into the commercial sector in 2005 with projects across government, education, transport, community, health, accommodation, retail and property.

Prebuilt has built offsite and installed hundreds of residential and commercial projects, with budgets ranging from $500,000 to $10,000,000+.

Identifying the need to create flexible and purpose-designed facilities, Prebuilt purchased its own 40,000sqm manufacturing space in 2015. Prebuilt is currently designing a significant increase in building manufacturing capacity with plans to open in 2022.
