Visit our display suite and factory facilities in the Melbourne suburb of Kilsyth to view the display house and meet the Prebuilt team. We will discuss your project brief, budget and site specifics. Following this meeting, we’ll provide a return brief and a budget estimate for your project and its following stages.
Our transport team will visit your site to conduct a comprehensive assessment of access requirements and determine the best location for crane setup.
Our architects will visit your site to discuss your project brief and the vision you have for your custom home. During this visit, they will assess key factors such as the site’s landfall, orientation, and surrounding views to ensure the design maximizes its potential. As part of this process, you will receive an initial sketch floor plan, giving you a preliminary look at how your home can be designed to suit your lifestyle and the unique characteristics of your site.
Our architects will create a bespoke concept design, including floor plans, a site plan, a window schedule, and an interactive 3D model of your new home. They will talk you through this design, and seek your feedback in presentation meetings.
Our design team will adjust your selected pre-designed home to suit your site and orientation. Presentations will include floor plans, a site plan, a window schedule, and an interactive 3D model of your new home. They will talk you through this design, and seek your feedback in presentation meetings.
Next, we prepare a costing, excluding optional upgrades. Once you have approved the Prebuilt costing proposal, a preliminary agreement is signed, and a deposit is paid. This deposit is later deducted from the first contract payment
In this stage we prepare town planning drawings for council approval including relevant site documentation. Depending on the site or specific local council, you may need to engage a town planner to assist with your planning permit submission.
Our Interior Design team will meet with you to create a palette for your home. Once we have your selections, a complete set of architectural drawings including detailed interior specifications is prepared. Any changes to the original design are re-priced by Prebuilt’s estimators.
We’ll prepare a standard HIA residential housing contract for your fully documented home. Prebuilt arranges the structural design and certification of your home, working alongside external engineers. Once contracts are signed, a building permit is organised and lodged by Prebuilt, working alongside your selected building surveyor/certifier.
Your house will take approximately 12 – 16 weeks (depending on complexity) to construct in our factory. Prebuilt allocates an experienced project manager to manage your build, and you are encouraged to visit us to inspect the progress of your new home. Our team will also make weekly inspections during construction.
During your build, Prebuilt will organise the installation of your footings. If earthworks are required, this will be checked by Prebuilt’s project manager before work commences onsite. Once your building is complete, your house will be transported to your site; typically, it only takes one day to install. Final onsite finishing usually takes between three and four weeks before the handover.
