Ginifer Railway Station, designed by Hassell Architects was constructed as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project. The building embraces graffiti and is a beacon for the neighbourhood. It reflects the change of day to night as the lighting reveals the hidden rainbow beyond the screen.
The project used prefab construction and design to visually align with the new and improved station facilities. The building was installed in just one day whilst work continued laying new train tracks on the lowered train line.
The building functions as the ticket office, PSO offices, staff meal area, staff amenities area, including male and female toilets, changing rooms, cleaners room and public restrooms.
The quick construction time meant that the platform and trains could continue construction so that there was a minimal disturbance to commuters.
