Modular Buildings For Transport

Modular Buildings For Transport

Prebuilt’s prefabricated buildings keeping Australia Connected

Prebuilt’s prefabricated buildings keep transport projects on track across Australia. Prebuilt has constructed commercial prefabricated structures specifically for several train stations across Victoria, allowing other building works to occur onsite while modules are constructed in our factory. Prebuilt is proud to provide industry leading modular design solutions to significant state infrastructure projects, assisting especially across level crossing removal projects.

Offsite Construction

A significant portion of our modular buildings are completed from our Kilsyth factory. this means other on site works such as demolition, excavation and site preparation can continue simultaneously whilst the buildings are being constructed.  Our materials are all stored in one secure location and our trades aren’t impacted by weather delays or hold ups on site.

Prefabricated Buildings For A Range of Train Station Uses

Our modular buildings can be utilised for a range of purposes at train stations. Prebuilt have previously provided modular buildings for ticket offices, PSO offices, staff amenities area, cleaners room, maintenance store, toilets and changing rooms.

Significant Reduction in Shut Down Periods

Utilising modular design has significant benefits when it comes to keeping an infrastructure project to its construction program. Offsite transport construction dramatically reduces the need for excessive station shut-down periods and minimises any risk of exposure to passengers. This results in a quicker construction time with minimal disturbance to commuters.

Transport

I’m interested in exploring using prefabricated buildings for a transport infrastructure project, where do I start?

Prebuilt can assist in the early design phase to ensure an efficient modular design is achieved and selection and integration of appropriate finishes and materials are obtained. Prebuilt assists with detailed Revit, architectural, structural and services modelling, which enables coordination of the overall project BIM designed and modelled. Speak to our commercial team today about your project.

How long does train station prefab construction typically take?

Timing of the construction is coordinated to suit the railway occupation window. Due to this, offsite fabrication by Prebuilt has previously been completed in 8-12 weeks, with installation onsite completed in 1-2 days.

What experience does Prebuilt bring to working with infrastructure partners?

Prebuilt has completed train station buildings for over a dozen projects in Victoria as part of the Victorian Government's Level Crossing Removal initiative. These buildings have included customer service areas, driver, staff and public amenities and communications and equipment storage areas. These projects have been undertaken with principal contractors including CPB, John Holland, Laing O’Rouke and Lendlease.

What quality control building standards are adhered to during an infrastructure project such as train stations?

Prebuilt adheres to the design, documentation and specification of any infrastructure project as developed by the Alliance design team. Detail is reflected in Prebuilt’s quality plan, managed in accordance with our Quality Certification Program ISO 9001.
