Playing host to our holiday maker clients, the property has been passed down through generations of friends and family. The vision for this new pre designed home was one centered around sustainability and harmony with the natural environment.
The architecturally designed home features four bedrooms, two living rooms, open plan kitchen and dining and generous decks to the entrance and rear. The open aspect of the home provides views to nature from the living space.
With passive design principles in mind, the home is well sheltered from the elements, with generous insulation, tinted glass, well-sealed doors, and windows all assisting with thermal performance. In addition to this, the client installed rainwater tanks and allowance for solar panels in the future.
The positioning of doors and windows was carefully considered to capture the natural flow of air, sea breezes, and movement of light. Our clients worked closely with Koskela furniture to ensure that the home was reflected furnishings and products that are sustainable, Australian made, support Australian manufacturers and collaborate with First Nations Artists.
