Lagoon Sports Pavilion: An Award-Winning Modular Project
We’re proud to celebrate the Lagoon Reserve Sports Pavilion in Port Melbourne Victoria, recently recognised with the prefabAUS ‘Smart Building Industry Awards – Infrastructure Category’.
A standout feature of the project was the innovative use of robotically manufactured steel components by our MMC supply partner – Page Steel Fabrications, demonstrating how advanced fabrication technology can deliver precision, efficiency and quality for complex community infrastructure projects.
The architect for this project was Perkins Architects. Perkins were engaged by the City of Port Phillip council to complete the preliminary design and specification, and was the project architect throughout the construction phase.
The new pavilion forms the heart of a revitalised Lagoon Reserve, providing an inclusive, adaptable and sustainable community hub designed to support sport, recreation and community connection for years to come. Through off-site manufacturing and smart construction methodologies, the project showcases the future of resilient and flexible civic infrastructure.
