Clovelly Mod interior pics!

New photos have arrived of the Sydney Mod 2 Storey house now completed.
The owners have done a beautiful job of finishing the house, with masonry works and the pool completed by seperate onsite contractors.
Prebuilt completed the joinery, flooring, stairs, tiling, fit-out and internal painting as part of the scope of works.
Interior styling is by the Owner.

New! Escape Bambra

This delightful Escape 14400 Standard house has recently been completed in Bambra, VIC. It features mixed Colorbond cladding in a combination on Shale Grey and Ironstone, with Silver Rylock aluminium windows and undecladding around the stumps. The window configuration was changed along the front of the house, with large fixed pane windows added to the living and dining ends in place of smaller windows next to the doors in the centre, giving it its own character. A colorbond eave was added over the doors at the front, and the deck is still to be built by the owners. The owner's addition of a woodheater in the living room makes it a cosy country home, while the double glazing and insulation helps keep all the heat inside.

This delightful 14400 Escape house has recently gone in to its new home in Peterborough, on the Great Ocean Road. It began as an Escape Standard 14400 plan, but has extra mountain ash timber windows added along the north face. The cladding is all Colorbond -Ironstone and Shale Grey, with a Shale Grey roof and bolt on eave.

South Australia Freedom arrives!

A Freedom Deluxe has arrived at its new home in South Australia. The Freedom was insalled in a few hours after its long drive from Melbourne, and now enjoys it's spectacular views over Strathalbyn, just south of Adelaide. The owners are delighted to have their new house up, with only the connection and finishing touches left to do.The house features Colorbond cladding in Woodland Grey.

New! 2 Storey house craned into Northcote block!

Prebuilt installed our first house in an inner city Melbourne subdivided block on Monday, when a 2 storey house was craned into its new permanent home in Northcote. The house, which features 3 modules of 3.5m width each in a customised plan, was delivered by driving down the narrow alleyway to the rear of the site, and then lifted by crane onto the stumps. The tight access conditions were a main contributing factor in the design of the house.
The delivery went very smoothly, taking just over 4 hours to complete. Connection and finishes are now underway, and we can't wait to see it complete!
The design features 3 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 2.5 bathrooms, custom kitchen and laundry, with large expanses of glazing and a high energy rating.

Marysville Mod installed!

Almost a year to the day since the fires took their previous Prebuilt house, a new Mod house has been installed on a beautiful site in Marysville, VIC. A crowd gathered to see the refined and elegant 3 module Mod house installed on the site where previously a Prebuilt Pod house stood. The owners are proud to be leading the way in the regeneration of the historic Victorian town, and say they have realized that Marysville feels like home.
The Mod house features Colorbond and Silvertop Ash cladding, 3 bedrooms and a study and a spacious kitchen, and is built to a high BAL rating.

Prebuilt New! Freedom Seville

A new Freedom house has been recently completed in the Victorian township of Seville. Built with full Colorbond cladding in Shale Grey and stained timber windows, the house also includes bolt on eaves over the bedroom windows, a wood heater, timber undercladding, a deck and verandah, and a covered entry landing by Prebuilt. Landscaping and a pool help this house to be the perfect country getaway!

Connex Nunawading Station installed!

Precom has delivered the first installment of new buildings to Melbourne's Nunawading train station. The buildings, which were built in under a month at the Precom factory, were ordered by an alliance between John Holland, Connex, the Department of Transport and Vic Roads.
The buildings, which include staff facilities, electrical, communications and Myki switch rooms and offices, were installed in their final location with a temporary skin of external cladding, as the final is being manufactured and flown in from Hong Kong.
Precom has commenced construction of the next installment of buildings, which are scheduled to be delivered in January.

This Freedom 16000 has been recently completed in the small gold mining town of Strathbogie, Victoria. Using a Deluxe 16000B plan as its base, the house has a spacious L shaped living room, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a walk in laundry. The owner, who has worked in sustainability for many years, is delighted with the house. Check out the amazing views!

2 storey Mod arrives in Sydney!

Prebuilt's first Sydney house has been installed in the seaside suburb of Clovelly. The 4 module Mod house features zinc and Silvertop Ash claddings, louvre and strip windows, and oak joinery throughout. The house was built almost to completion in Prebuilt's factory in Kilsyth, and then transported on 4 wide load trucks to Sydney. The first level was installed in a day, with the second storey having to wait for high winds to die down before being craned in to its new permanent position. The thrilled owners are now setting about completing the rest of their scheme, which includes landscaping and a pool.

New! Kinglake House arrives!

Prebuilt has installed one of the first houses back to bush fire ravaged Kinglake. The Escape house is welcome relief for its owners, who have been living with family since the fires took their home in February. Built to BAL 40 rating, the house features all fire-proof materials, including full Colorbond cladding, improved aluminium windows, toughened glass, stainless steel flyscreens and cement sheeting under the floor plate.

Display house finds its new home!

The Prebuilt Freedom display house has been moved to its new home in leafy Eltham. The display, which stood fully assembled behind the Prebuilt factory until recently, was folded down on site for truck delivery, its side walls removed and transported on a trailor, and its bamboo floor taken up for re-laying on site.
The new owners, who lost their property in the February fires, are delighted to have their new home delivered ready to go, with floors and decks included.

Recently installed - Retreat Merrijig

This lovely large Retreat house has been recently installed in Merrijig, near the Mitchell River and Alpine National Parks. Perfect for the snow, it features a drying room for wet gear, ski storage, and a spa to soothe tired muscles, as well as a large loft with skylights for extra guests. Featuring Silvertop Ash as well as Colorbond cladding, the house fits in perfectly with its surroundings. Prebuilt also provided the steel framed spotted gum deck and pergola with timber slats, with it all arriving at the site preconstructed on trucks.
These photos show the house just after installation by Prebuilt, prior to floor coverings, painting, and connection to services by the owners.

Better Homes and Gardens Friday 24/7!!

Prebuilt has once again been featured on Channel 7's Better Homes and Gardens, in the Prefab housing special on Friday 24th of July. The story looked at our Merricks home and our folding Freedom range as part of an item on the wide range of styles and prices now available in the expanding prefabricated housing market.
The Merricks home featured in the "Homes over $240,000" category. It is a customised plan based on our Mod modules, and cost around $320,000 all completed with a base price of around $260,000. Its beautiful and unique tiles and finishes displayed the individuality of the design, which its owner had a large hand in.

The Freedom range featured in the "Homes around $200,000" category, and is becoming famous across the country as the folding origami house. There are five sizes and ten models in the range, which is priced from $165,000 - $226,000, with plans and specifications available to download under the Our Houses tab.

This customised house has been recently installed in the Victorian township of Merricks.
This house exudes the personality of its owners, with tiled feature walls and splashes of colour throughout.
The plan features overlapping modules to create a wide open living area with adjoining kitchen,
study, master bedroom and bathroom, while a seperate module joined via decking houses a large rumpus room, bedroom and bathroom.
This beautiful house is an example of how Prebuilt's houses allow the personality of clients to shine while based on a modular system, through material and configuration choices.

Prebuilt Freedom survives January fires in Drummond, Victoria

A Prebuilt house built to meet a high fire rating has withstood the devastating fires that ravaged Drummond Victoria in late January prior to the Black Saturday fires. The unoccupied Freedom house survived when the fires engulfed its Drummond property, melting the plastic down-pipes against its walls, damaging a double glazed window, destroying the deck and incinerating its septic system. The house's Colorbond cladding substantially protected the interior, resulting in no real loss of possessions, and the survival of the clients' cat, which sheltered inside.
Prebuilt regularly builds houses to comply with Australian Standard AS 3959 including high and extreme fire ratings.

We have just installed an extension to a Victorian terrace house, designed by Fitzroy architects, Rexroth Mannasmann in inner Melbourne. With a new kitchen/dining/living module and and two deck and pergola modules installed in a morning, it certainly provided great entertainment to morning coffee drinkers in the adjoining cafe.

Investment in design sees Prebuilt as industry leader!

It’s now been over four years since Prebuilt decided it was time to shake up the prefab housing sector and we can’t believe the response we have had. Over the last four years we have developed a housing range that we are truly proud of and one that is clearly resonating with the Australian market.
At Prebuilt we believe it is vital to offer a range of houses all very individual in their design but flexible in their layout that meet the diversity of our clients budgets, tastes and sites. Our Freedom Range is still our most popular home series however our Mod Range launched in January 2007 has proven extremely popular so much so that it has even spawned some competitor copies.
We are currently working on two new ranges that we hope to launch early next year, ‘The Gable Range’ by Pleysier Perkins Architects and ‘The Shed Range’ by Collins Turner Architects and the initial sketches are looking great.
The management team in the office has now grown to twelve and includes three architectural graduates, a quantity surveyor/engineer, two draftsmen, a project manager, a site supervisor and a finance manager. Of course on the floor in the factory we can have up to thirty tradesmen at any one time.
We are all looking forward to the next twelve months and to continuing to provide our clients with the industry expertise, professionalism and design leadership that has brought us this far.

Portland RSPCA Regional Shelter opened by Minister for Agriculture

The Victorian Minister for Agriculture, Don Cameron, MP officially opened the Portland RSPCA Regional Shelter and joined RSPCA President, Huw Wirth and CEO, Maria Mercurio on a tour of the new facility on 20 October, 2006. Built by Prebuilt and designed by NH Architecture this purpose built facility will provide much needed adoption and veterinary services in Portland.
